About

I’m a highly experienced consultant who specialises in foresight, strategy and innovation. I’m also a successful business author and public speaker.

My first book ‘The Post-Truth Business’’ went to No1 in the ‘Business Bestseller’ charts (and is being updated for 2025) whilst my second book ‘Influencers & Revolutionaries’ was shortlisted for the ‘Business Book of the Year’ Awards. My podcast ‘The New Abnormal’ has over 200,000 downloads. I’ve written for think-tank, lifestyle & marketing magazines, and been quoted across a range of media.

I’ve given speeches at events from L.A. to Tokyo & Helsinki to Melbourne (although most of my talks are now given online) and have also lectured at universities and business schools for over a decade. My keynotes combine leading-edge research, applied philosophy & psychology plus other ‘big-thinker / best-practise’ references, usually focusing on these core themes:

I’m the UK Assoc Partner for an NGO, the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies. CIFS are renowned for ‘applied thought-leadership’ re: scenario planning, risk analysis, innovation & strategic foresight. Whether it’s macro speculative-futures activity, or discussing how to future-proof organisations, I assist their clients in being #FuturesReady and run courses for them on foresight-driven innovation.

Re: my background, I co-founded The Future Laboratory then left to launch Brand Positive, and over the last 20 years my research has been conducted in the UK/EU, MENA, Asia, Russia & US. (I also work on contracts with clients for longer-term projects.) I aim to illuminate key issues facing organisations - knowing where to look, who to ask, what to ask and how to interpret insights - regarding ‘problems to solve’. Essentially, I see curiosity as a competitive advantage and have a great deal of experience in working on projects re:

• Analysing the ‘reputation capital’ of a brand
• Fine-tuning brand positioning and story shaping  
• Illuminating future scenarios and strategic responses

And last (but very definitely not least!) I’m proud to be a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
